ASACOL contains the active ingredient mesalazine.ASACOL is used to treat and/or keep in remission (ie: not reoccur) inflammatory bowel diseases, such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.ASACOL belongs to a group of medicines called anti-inflammatories. These medicines work by inhibiting inflammatory agents in the body. ASACOL works topically ie: it works on the surface of the intestinal tract and bowel with which it comes into contact. Beclazone is used to help prevent asthma. Beclazone contains a medicine called beclometasone dipropionate, which belongs to a family of medicines called corticosteroids. Inhaled corticosteroids are not the same as anabolic steroids which some athletes and body-builder use. Your Beclazone Inhaler delivers very small amounts of inhaled corticosteroid straight to your lungs, where it works by reducing inflammation (swelling and irritation) in the small airways. This helps you to breathe easier and helps to prevent asthma attacks. This kind of medicine is known as a 'Preventer'. It must be used everyday as directed by your doctor even if you have no asthma symptoms.Beclazone may take a few days to start to work. Do not stop using your inhaler unless a doctor tells you to. Beclazone does not give immediate relief from an asthma attack. Do not use Beclazone to relieve wheezing or breathlessness - you may have been given a different kind of inhaler medicine, called a 'Reliever', for that. Your doctor may have told you to use a Reliever inhaler in addition to your Beclazone Inhaler. There is no evidence that Beclazone Inhaler is addictive. How to use Beclomethasone Dipropionate InhlFirst read the manufacturers instruction leaflet provided by your pharmacist before you start using beclomethasone and each time you get a refill. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist. This medication is inhaled into the lungs using a special inhaler device. Using this inhaler device with a spacer makes it easier to inhale the medication. To use the inhaler, shake the canister for about 10 seconds. Take a drink of water to moisten the throat. Place the inhaler or spacer mouthpiece into your mouth over the tongue. Close your lips tightly around the mouthpiece. Press the inhaler while taking a slow deep breath through your mouth for 5 seconds. Hold your breath for 10 seconds while keeping the inhaler in your mouth so that the drug can be absorbed into the lungs. Remove the inhaler device from your mouth and slowly breathe out.Use this medication twice daily or as directed by your doctor. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to therapy. If 2 or more inhalations/puffs for each dose are prescribed, wait at least 1 minute between them.If you are using other inhalers at the same time, use them first. Wait several minutes between the use of those inhalers and beclomethasone. To prevent dry mouth, hoarseness, and fungal infection of the mouth, rinse your mouth with water after each use. Do not swallow the rinse water.Take this medication exactly as prescribed. Follow the dosing schedule carefully. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. If you have been taking high doses of this medication for a long time, do not suddenly stop taking it without your doctor's approval. Some conditions may become worse when this drug is suddenly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased to reduce symptoms such as extreme tiredness, weakness, weight loss, or nausea. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these symptoms occur after stopping the medication. DOPRESS capsules or tablets contain dothiepin hydrochloride. It belongs to a group of medicines known as tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs).DOPRESS is used to treat depression and the anxiety associated with depression. Depression is thought to be caused by a chemical imbalance in parts of the brain. This affects your whole body and can cause emotional and physical symptoms such as feeling low in spirit, loss of interest in activities, being unable to enjoy life, poor appetite or overeating, disturbed sleep, often waking up early, loss of sex drive, lack of energy and feeling guilty over nothing. DOPRESS works by correcting this chemical imbalance and may help relieve the symptoms of depression.Your doctor may, however, prescribe DOPRESS for another reason. Ask your doctor if you have any questions about why DOPRESS has been prescribed for you.DOPRESS is not recommended for use in children 12 years of age and under. DOPRESS is not recommended for use in adolescents (13-18 years of age) for the treatment of depression, unless under the supervision of a specialist. This product is able to be sourced and supplied at excellent prices because of favourable cross border currency conversions. This two-in-one solutions package solves two of your concerns at one go.Diane-35« is a contraceptive pill that doubles as a very effective acne treatment.Diane-35« provides contraceptive protection as reliable as other pills while it also relieves acne, greasy skin and hairy skin.Essentially, Diane-35« works by regulating your hormones: estrogen and progestogen (reproductive hormones) and androgen (which can cause acne, by prompting excess oil production in your skin). How does Diane-35 work as a contraceptive pill? The cyclical production of the female hormones and the maturation of a follicle (egg) in the ovaries are controlled by a small organ (size about 1 cm) connected to the brain, the pituitary gland. Diane-35« meanwhile contains two female hormones, estrogen and progestin. These are similar to the natural hormones women produce in their ovaries. The pituitary gland is not able to distinguish the hormones contained in Diane-35« from those produced by the ovaries. It, therefore, stops inducing the natural hormone production by the ovaries and eventually the process of egg growth and release. This hormonal feedback mechanism is based on the same principle which blocks the maturation and release of further eggs during pregnancy. How does Diane-35 clear your skin?Suitable treatment for acne in women, Diane-35« has a clearly recognizable effect on the reduction of sebum production by blocking the effect of androgen (male sex hormones) on your skin. Thus, Diane-35« also reduces the formation of new spots and blackheads. After about three months your acne clears. You may then choose to stop using Diane-35« as an anti-acne treatment or to continue using it as your contraceptive Pill of choice.Diane-35 « is a 21-Pill regimen that provides contraceptive protection starting from the first day of your period, when the Pill should be taken. Contraception remains effective on the 7-day Pill-free period. As an advice, keep an extra pack of Diane-35« handy so you won't run out of Pills when you want to start your new pack. More about the Pill -The Pill is a contraceptive that is mainly used to prevent pregnancy. A Pill like Diane-35« has also a very beneficial effect on problem skin, and a lot of girls now take it to keep acne at bay. So if acne is really spoiling your teenage years (which should be a happy time) you could consider it. Your doctor will advise you. The Pill is one of the most researched drugs in history and is often quoted as one of the major inventions of the 20th century. Promethazine is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic reactions such as allergic rhinitis (runny nose and watery eyes caused by allergy to pollen, mold or dust), allergic conjunctivitis (red, watery eyes caused by allergies), allergic skin reactions, and allergic reactions to blood or plasma products. Promethazine is used with other medications to treat anaphylaxis (sudden, severe allergic reactions) and the symptoms of the common cold such as sneezing, cough, and runny nose. Promethazine is also used to relax and sedate patients before and after surgery, during labor, and at other times. Promethazine is also used to prevent and control nausea and vomiting that may occur after surgery, and with other medications to help relieve pain after surgery. Promethazine is also used to prevent and treat motion sickness. Promethazine helps control symptoms, but will not treat the cause of the symptoms or speed recovery. Promethazine is in a class of medications called phenothiazines. It works by blocking the action of a certain natural substance in the body.Promethazine comes as a tablet and syrup (liquid) to take by mouth and as a suppository to use rectally. When promethazine is used to treat allergies, it is usually taken one to four times daily, before meals and/or at bedtime. When promethazine is used to relieve cold symptoms, it is usually taken every 4-6 hours as needed. When promethazine is used to treat motion sickness, it is taken 30-60 minutes before travel and again after 8-12 hours if needed. On longer trips, promethazine is usually taken in the morning and before the evening meal on each day of travel. When promethazine is used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting it is usually taken every 4-6 hours as needed. Promethazine may also be taken at bedtime the night before surgery to relieve anxiety and produce quiet sleep. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take promethazine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.Promethazine suppositories are for rectal use only. Do not try to swallow the suppositories or insert in any other part of your body.
Medical Information:Estrofem« was especially developed and indicated for the treatment of oestrogen deficiency symptoms in women without a uterus, with effective symptom relief and good tolerability (continuous therapy with calendar pack of 28 tablets containing 1mg 17b-oestradiol). As there is no increased risk of developing cancer of the uterus lining in women without a uterus, they need not to take an additional progestogen. The drug is available in different dosages because a standardised unique dose is not optimal for every woman. Studies have demonstrated that after four weeks of treatment there is a significant reduction in hot flushes and other menopausal complaints. The administration of Estrofem« results in a significant increase of bone density.Estrofem« is an oestrogen only treatment for effective symptom relief and one of the options for osteoporosis prevention in hysterectomised women.Promotes growth and development of female reproductive system and secondary sex characteristics; affects release of pituitary gonadotropins; inhibits ovulation and prevents postpartum breast engorgement; conserves calcium and phosphorous and encourages bone formation; overrides stimulatory effects of testosterone. This medication is used to prevent certain types of malaria, a parasite infection, when traveling to certain areas that have malaria. Another drug may be used instead if you are going to an area with resistant malaria. Chloroquine may also be used with other medications to treat certain less severe (uncomplicated) types of malaria or a spreading infection with another parasite (ameba). Chloroquine is an amebicide and antimalarial drug. It works by killing ameba and the form of the malaria parasite that infects the red blood cells.OTHER USES: This section contains uses of this drug that are not listed in the approved professional labeling for the drug but that may be prescribed by your health care professional. Use this drug for a condition that is listed in this section only if it has been so prescribed by your health care professional. This drug may also be used to treat certain immune diseases (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus). How to use Chloroquine Phosphate OralTake this medication by mouth with or without food. If stomach upset occurs, take with a meal. For prevention of malaria, take chloroquine exactly as directed by your doctor, usually once weekly on the same day each week. Start this medication usually 1 to 2 weeks before you enter the malaria area, and continue to take it during your stay and for 4 weeks after leaving the area, or as directed by your doctor. For treatment of a sudden/severe attack of malaria, take this medication as directed, usually 4 doses over 3 days. The first dose is larger and is followed by 3 smaller doses. On day 1 take the large dose followed 6 hours later with a smaller dose, then take the next smaller doses on days 2 and 3.For treatment of ameba, take this medication as directed, usually once daily for 2 to 3 weeks. The first 2 doses are larger. If you are taking any antacid, do not take chloroquine within 4 hours before or after the antacid.Dosage is based on your body weight, medical condition, and response to treatment. It is very important to continue taking this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. This medication works best when taken exactly as directed. If you are taking this drug once a week, it may help to mark your calendar or travel schedule with a reminder.Do not take more or less of this drug than prescribed. Do not stop taking it before completing treatment, even if you feel better, unless directed to do so by your doctor. Skipping or changing your dose without approval from your doctor may cause prevention treatment to be ineffective, cause the amount of parasite to increase, make the infection more difficult to treat (resistant), or worsen side effects. No drug treatment is completely effective in preventing malaria. Therefore, seek immediate medical attention if you develop symptoms of malaria (e.g., fever, chills, headache, other flu-like symptoms), especially for 2 months after completing this prescription. It is important to prevent mosquito bites (e.g., using appropriate insect repellents, wearing clothes that cover most of the body, remaining in air-conditioned or well-screened areas, using mosquito nets, using insect-killing spray). Buy insect repellent before traveling. The most effective insect repellents contain diethyltoluamide (DEET). Ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend the appropriate strengths of mosquito repellent for you/your children.Chloroquine Phosphate Oral is used to treat the following:Infection by Amebae that is Not in the Intestines, Malaria caused by the Protozoa Plasmodium Falciparum, Prevention of Falciparum Malaria, Malaria caused by the Protozoa Plasmodium Vivax, Preventive Treatment of Vivax Malaria, Malaria, Malaria PreventionChloroquine Phosphate Oral may also be used to treat: Infection of the Liver due to Amebae, Increased Calcium in the Blood from Sarcoidosis, Porphyria Cutanea Tarda, Chronic Inflammation of Blood Vessels in the Skin, Skin Allergy to Sunlight, Disease that Causes Disc-Shaped Patches On the Upper Body, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Joint Inflammatory Disease in Children and Young Adults
Lamotrigine is used to treat certain types of seizures in patients who have epilepsy or Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (a disorder that causes seizures and often causes developmental delays). Lamotrigine is also used to increase the time between episodes of depression, mania (frenzied or abnormally excited mood), and other abnormal moods in patients with bipolar I disorder (manic-depressive disorder; a disease that causes episodes of depression, episodes of mania, and other abnormal moods). Lamotrigine has not been shown to be effective when people experience the actual episodes of depression or mania, so other medications must be used to help people recover from these episodes. Lamotrigine is in a class of medications called anticonvulsants. It works by decreasing abnormal excitement in the brain.Lamotrigine comes as a regular tablet and a chewable dispersible (can be chewed or dissolved in liquid) tablet to take by mouth. It is usually taken once or twice a day. It is sometimes taken once every other day at the beginning of treatment. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. There are other medications that have names similar to the brand name for lamotrigine. You should be sure that you receive lamotrigine and not one of the similar medications each time you fill your prescription. Be sure that the prescription your doctor gives you is clear and easy to read. Talk to your pharmacist to be sure that you are given lamotrigine. After you receive your medication, compare the tablets to the pictures in the manufacturer's patient information sheet. If you think you were given the wrong medication, talk to your pharmacist. Do not take any medication unless you are certain it is the medication that your doctor prescribed.Swallow the regular tablets whole; do not split, chew, or crush them.If you are taking the chewable dispersible tablets, you may swallow them whole, chew them, or dissolve them in liquid. If you chew the tablets, drink a small amount of water or diluted fruit juice afterward to wash down the medication. To dissolve the tablets in liquid, place 1 teaspoon of water or diluted fruit juice in a glass or on a spoon. Place the tablet in the liquid and wait 1 minute to allow it to dissolve. Then mix the liquid and drink all of it immediately. If you were taking another medication to treat seizures and are switching to lamotrigine, your doctor will gradually decrease your dose of the other medication and gradually increase your dose of lamotrigine. Follow these directions carefully and ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions about how much of each medication you should take.Lamotrigine may control your condition, but it will not cure it. Continue to take lamotrigine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking lamotrigine without talking to your doctor. Your doctor will probably decrease your dose gradually. If you suddenly stop taking lamotrigine, you may experience seizures. If you do stop taking lamotrigine for any reason, do not start taking it again without talking to your doctor. This medication is used to treat diarrhea due to certain intestinal parasitic infections (i.e., Cryptosporidium parvum and Giardia lamblia). How to use Nitazoxanide OralTake this medication by mouth every 12 hours for 3 days with food, or as directed by your doctor.Children less than 11 years of age should not take these tablets. Latanoprost is used to treat high pressure inside the eye due to glaucoma (open angle type) or other eye diseases (e.g., ocular hypertension). It is similar to a natural chemical in the body (prostaglandin) and works by regulating the flow of fluid within the eye which results in lower pressure. Lowering high pressure inside the eye helps to prevent blindness.Timolol is used to treat high pressure inside the eye due to glaucoma (open angle-type) or other eye diseases (e.g., ocular hypertension). Lowering high pressure inside the eye helps to prevent blindness. This medication works by decreasing the amount of fluid within the eye. Timolol belongs to a class of drugs known as beta-blockers.Apply this medication in the affected eye(s) usually once daily in the evening, or as directed by your doctor. Do not use this medication more frequently than prescribed; using more can decrease effectiveness. To apply eye drops, wash your hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface. The preservative in this product may be absorbed by contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using this medication and keep them out of your eyes for at least 15 minutes after applying latanoprost.Tilt your head back, look upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a pouch. Hold the dropper directly over your eye and apply the prescribed number of drops. Look downward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at the inside corner of your eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink and do not rub your eye.Do not rinse the dropper. Replace the dropper cap after each use.Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Remember to use it at the same time each day. It is important to continue using latanoprost even if you feel well. Most people with glaucoma or high pressure in the eye do not feel sick.If you are using another kind of eye medication (e.g., drops or ointments), wait at least 5 minutes before applying other products. Use eye drops before eye ointments to allow the eye drops to enter the eye.Treatment: Closed Angle Glaucoma, High Eye Pressure or Glaucoma that May Worsen without Treatment, Increased Pressure in the Eye in the Absence of a Lens, Increased Eye Pressure caused by Another Disease Ipratropium oral inhalation is used to prevent wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, and coughing in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; a group of diseases that affect the lungs and airways) such as chronic bronchitis (swelling of the air passages that lead to the lungs) and emphysema (damage to the air sacs in the lungs). Ipratropium is in a class of medications called bronchodilators. It works by relaxing and opening the air passages to the lungs to make breathing easier.Ipratropium comes as a solution (liquid) to inhale by mouth using a nebulizer (machine that turns medication into a mist that can be inhaled) and as an aerosol to inhale by mouth using an inhaler. The nebulizer solution is usually used three or four times a day, once every 6 to 8 hours. The aerosol is usually used four times a day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use ipratropium exactly as directed. Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor.Talk to your doctor about what you should do if you experience symptoms such as wheezing, difficulty breathing, or chest tightness. Your doctor will probably give you a different inhaler that acts more quickly than ipratropium to relieve these symptoms. Your doctor may also tell you to use additional puffs of ipratropium along with other medications to treat these symptoms. Follow these directions carefully and be sure you know when you should use each of your inhalers. Do not use extra puffs of ipratropium unless your doctor tells you that you should. Never use more than 12 puffs of ipratropium inhalation aerosol in a 24-hour period.Call your doctor if your symptoms worsen or if you feel that ipratropium inhalation no longer controls your symptoms. Also call your doctor if you were told to use extra doses of ipratropium and you find that you need to use more doses than usual. If you are using the inhaler, your medication will come in canisters. Each canister of ipratropium aerosol is designed to provide 200 inhalations. After the labeled number of inhalations has been used, later inhalations may not contain the correct amount of medication. You should keep track of the number of inhalations you have used. You can divide the number of inhalations in your inhaler by the number of inhalations you use each day to find out how many days your inhaler will last. Throw away the canister after you have used the labeled number of inhalations even if it still contains some liquid and continues to release a spray when it is pressed. Do not float the canister in water to see if it still contains medication.Be careful not to get ipratropium into your eyes. If you are using the inhaler, keep your eyes closed when you use the medication. If you are using the nebulizer solution, you should use a nebulizer with a mouthpiece instead of a face mask. If you must use a face mask, ask your doctor how you can prevent the medication from leaking. If you get ipratropium in your eyes, you may develop narrow angle glaucoma (a serious eye condition that may cause loss of vision). If you already have narrow angle glaucoma, your condition may worsen. You may experience widened pupils (black circles in the center of the eyes), eye pain or redness, blurred vision, and vision changes such as seeing halos around lights. Call your doctor if you get ipratropium into your eyes or if you develop these symptoms. The inhaler that comes with ipratropium aerosol is designed for use only with a canister of ipratropium. Never use it to inhale any other medication, and do not use any other inhaler to inhale ipratropium. Treating type 2 diabetes. It is used along with diet and exercise. It may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines.Metformin/Pioglitazone is a biguanide and thiazolidinedione antidiabetic combination. During treatment, the long time period between the second dose on one day and the first dose on the next day is necessary to make sure the drug works well.Use this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. Remember to use it at the same times each day.Do not stop taking this medication without consulting your doctor. Some conditions may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased.Although unlikely, when used for an extended period, this medication may not work as well and may require different dosing.
